Reportedly, William Shatner received the news of the assassination while he was working at Universal Studios on a project. He revealed to the publication:

I was filming at Universal Studios when I heard the president was assassinated. The studio, for the first and only time in my career, closed.

The interview was back in 2018, which marked fifty-five years from the year when the assassination occurred in 1963. Other actors had more to say about how the day played out for them, from lead actors of the day to journalists and even behind-the-scenes personnel. These interviews were all heartfelt, echoing the same sentiments. While some people were already active, other big names in the industry, like Kelsey Grammar, were still in school. However, this did not stop them from having pretty vivid memories of the time.

Kelsey Grammar, known for playing Beast in the MCU and Fox’s X-Men universe, revealed that he was in school when his teacher received the news. The entire school was let out early, according to the X-Men: Days of Future Past alum. He said:

I was in Miss Rizzuto’s third grade class at PS 22 in New Jersey. Our principal walked into the classroom and told her, and she started to cry. They let us out early. It was just a sad day. It was like when Sadat was shot. You say, “Oh no, people who were just trying to do the world some good.”

JFK’s assassination had a profound effect on not only the history of America but also entertainment. It set the stage for how a twenty-four-hour news cycle could work and legitimized television news as the go-to source for updates on important world and local events.
