WWE star Becky Lynch is all set to make her Star Trek debut with the upcoming live-action show Starfleet Academy. The series will reportedly be set in the 32nd Century and will see new recruits who are the first batch of cadets in a century. The show also features Holly Hunter, Tig Notaro, and Robert Picardo, who returns as the Doctor.
Lynch explored her acting career after taking a hiatus from WWE the previous year. Though she is back on the ring now, she might have to leave again as the second season of the series begins filming (it is said to be in development). The wrestler mentioned that she was part of the bridge crew, which means that she has an important role.
WWE star Becky Lynch reveals her role in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Becky Lynch came back from her hiatus at this year’s WWE WrestleMania 41 and restarted her rivalries. After defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a tag-team championship match with Lyra Valkyria, the duo lost their titles on WWE RAW to Morgan and Rodriguez. She has now turned on Valkyria and will face her for the Intercontinental Championship.
During her year-long hiatus, Becky Lynch explored other talents such as acting for the screen. While she had previously been a stunt double on Vikings, had starred in The Marine 6 with Shawn Michaels, and had also appeared as a guest on a few reality TV shows, Lynch will be starring in the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

The Paramount+ show is one of the two live-action shows currently streaming on the platform as the franchise goes through a lull. Lynch mentioned that she would be a member of the bridge crew in the series, though her character name has not been revealed yet (via Variety).
I’m not sure how much I can give away, other than it was an amazing experience. I’m on the bridge crew, and filming on the bridge, it was one of the most amazing sets I’ve ever been on. Alex Kurtzman, the director and writer, is such a wonderful person to work with and learn from. Paul Giamatti is there, Holly Hunter.
While she is credited as a guest star, it is not clear how many episodes she will be in and if she will return for the second season, which is reportedly in development. Starfleet Academy is expected to premiere this year.
WWE star Becky Lynch mentioned that Star Trek was a part of her childhood, even though she was not a fan

While she has featured in a bunch of TV shows and movies, and is a WWE legend, Becky Lynch will be tasting her first franchise with Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. She had previously been cast in an undisclosed role in the MCU’s Eternals, but her role in the post-credits scene was reportedly cut. Her husband Seth Rollins’ MCU role was also cut.
Talking about her relationship with the Star Trek franchise, the Irish WWE star mentioned that though she was not a hardcore fan, the series was always playing at home as her family were fans of Colm Meaney, who plays Miles O’Brien in the franchise. She said,
I grew up when ‘Star Trek’ was one of the two shows that were on TV in Ireland, on whatever four channels we had, so it was always on in the background. I can’t say that I sat down and watched, but I did love the movies. And Colm Meaney. We all love Colm Meaney; any time he was on, you sit down and watch that.
Lynch mentioned that her husband, Seth Rollins, and daughter came to set one day to support her. Apart from the Star Trek series, the WWE star will also be seen in Happy Gilmore 2, which stars Adam Sandler. While she is thriving in the ring, Lynch might just have a second career in Hollywood with so many projects in line.
