Shatner was also asked about Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry during the same interview. Given the progressive themes and focus on the ecology of different planets in the sci-fi series, Shatner was asked to comment on how the producer might feel about planet Earth’s current state.

He would, like all of us, would be angry, hurt, disappointed, so many negative emotions.

Furthermore, Shatner implied that Roddenberry’s different careers and battle with personal demons might have made him privy to the prevalent issues of the planet. As a result, Shatner added that Roddenberry would have been frustrated with people denying the existence of global warming and its impact.
