Elon Musk’s dream to create a Starfleet Academy in real life seems to have not received its endorsement from a Star Trek legend. The Tesla and Space X CEO’s political leanings and controversies seem to have deterred Star Trek actor Robert Picardo from endorsing Musk’s interplanetary missions.

Musk has been an ardent supporter of current Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump. He has used the X (formerly Twitter) platform to endorse the controversial candidate and has himself been embroiled in multiple controversies. Picardo’s opinion of Musk implied that he was far from Starfleet’s Utopian ideology.

Actor Robert Picardo played the role of The Doctor in the Star Trek universe. He made his first appearance in the spinoff show Voyager as an AI-powered hologram. Picardo’s character was a deep exploration of the powers of AI and the ethical and moral implications of it. He reprised his role in multiple other shows and films.

Picardo is a legend among Trekkies and his performance as the Doctor and his creator Lewis Zimmerman in the show has made him a fan-favorite. He recently made headlines for bashing SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for a statement he made that was related to Star Trek. When Musk claimed to make Starfleet Academy real, Picardo said,

Musk has been a vocal supporter of Republican candidate Donald Trump for the upcoming elections and Picardo’s vehement disapproval of the Tesla CEO’s Starfleet ambitions seemed to be a jab at this endorsement.

Amidst controversies regarding his vocal support for Republican nominee Donald Trump, Elon Musk has come under fire over the years for his controversial statements online. The public figure has made headlines several times over the years for his X posts and for his statements about ‘free speech’.

Musk recently came under fire for several reasons, including criticizing pop star Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The Tesla CEO reportedly earned the wrath of the Internet when he said that he would ‘give her a child’. According to Variety, many criticized his statements and even called them ‘creepy’.

Musk has also been often called a purveyor of misinformation for making allegedly baseless statements. Rolling Stone magazine called him the biggest purveyor of misinformation.

Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 Presidential election has often been considered to be one of the most important moments in history due to the ramifications of it. The former President became the first POTUS not to have held any office previously. The billionaire’s controversial statements about immigrants and policies have always brought him headlines.

His present campaign has also seen plenty of controversies. He recently went through a second alleged assassination attempt in Florida (via CNN). A man, Ryan Routh, was reportedly arrested in relation to the attempt. Musk reportedly made a now-deleted tweet in bad taste about the incident, asking why no one had tried to assassinate Kamala Harris (via THR).

Trump also recently claimed that he had been informed by the US Intelligence that Iran had made threats for his life. According to BBC, Trump had made various claims about facing threats from Iran, which the Iranian Government had denied. He was reportedly also briefed about specific threats to him by the intelligence bureau.
